Rock Your Body’s chords, progressions, and TAB
As a guitarist, you could just think of Rock Your Body’s chorus chords as F – G – Em, since that’s what you’ll play using A shapes and an Am shape in the chorus.
It’s the bass that plays the F/G and G/A. However, if you don’t know this is what is happening, you’re missing out on understanding the sound that is being created here.
Using TAB, the shapes, and rhythm look like this for the chorus (and bridge):

For the verse and pre-chorus, it’s the same chords although the F/G and G/A are held (notice how I’m only playing two notes for the F). The Em is played in a lower shape, I like the Cm shape .
The rhythm for the Em is now more sparse as well. Here it is in TAB.

Finally, the middle 8 section. There’s a lot going on here and I’m pretty sure if you hooked me up with a couple of keyboard players, we could talk about these chords all day. And, I’m sure they’d win!
However, at the end of the day, you need a part that works, is consistent rhythmically, and is relatively easy to understand for the listener. You also need to be able to remember it yourself!
With all that in mind, here’s what I came up with for Rock Your Body’s middle 8 chords.
