Sounds like a name, doesn’t it? Gnarls Barkley is actually a duo, made up of singer Cee Lo Green and producer Danger Mouse.
In 2006, they released the album St. Elsewhere, which featured the massive hit Crazy.
Crazy was played non-stop on radio stations around the world and quickly found its way into every covers band’s set list. It was even voted Song of the Decade by Rolling Stone magazine.
Riding the wave of Crazy’s success, the duo followed up with a second album, The Odd Couple, in 2008. However, it didn’t produce any significant singles, and the band quietly disbanded.
Cee Lo Green continued with a solo career, releasing the Bruno Mars-penned Forget You in 2010—another worldwide hit.
Meanwhile, Danger Mouse became one of the most in-demand producers in the industry, working with Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Beck, U2, and Norah Jones.
