Running Naked to Rock Stardom: The Blink-182 Story
After seven years living the independent punk life, Blink-182 signed with MCA and teamed up with Green Day’s producer Jerry Finn to record the enormously successful Enema of the State.
With a porn star on the cover—and in their now-iconic video where they ran naked through the streets of Los Angeles—the band’s fun-loving, immature hits took the world by storm.
Championed by MTV at the turn of the millennium, Blink-182 quickly rose to global fame, eventually selling over 50 million albums.
Although their follow-up albums performed well, their biggest hits came from this major label debut, with singles like All the Small Things and What’s My Age Again?
They never quite replicated the success of Enema of the State, but continued to release albums, split up, and reunite multiple times over the years.
Their most recent album, Nine, was released in 2019.
