Walking On Sunshine’s chords and progressions
Walking On Sunshine‘s chords are simple, the verse is just I – IV – V – IV, like this on the key of Bb.
||: Bb | Eb | F | Eb :|| x8
The chorus is even easier, just going between V and IV, usually reserved for bridges!
||: F | F | Eb | Eb :||
You could just play the same rhythm you probably already knew from playing You Can’t Hurry Love.
However, as the only guitar player in the band, you may want to consider building dynamics, not just playing the same thing over and over.
As a member, you’ll get TAB for how I reckon you should play this classic using three different ideas.

Walking On Sunshine is a covers band standard!
Katrina & The Waves‘ 1985 worldwide hit Walking On Sunshine quickly got onto the working band’s set list and stayed there for several decades.
Sales of 2 million in the U.S. alone certainly helped but personally, I think it’s the working bands that cemented this classic into the public’s consciousness.
Perhaps the secret is that since we only have two chord progressions to worry about, it’s easy to learn!
As if that wasn’t easy enough, for the main part, we should seemingly play just one rhythm which you probably knew from having You Can’t Hurry Love in the set already!
Perhaps these two tunes could be turned into a medley, they are in the same key…
