Rockin’ All Over The World’s chords, progressions, and TAB
English rockers Status Quo must be the only band in the world that successfully managed to claim the Honky-Tonk as their own, without having to reference Chuck Berry!
And what tune captures this better than their signature song Rockin’ All Over The World? (It wasn’t actually Status Quo who wrote this classic, it was John Fogerty, but Status Quo certainly claimed it.)
Another notable artist playing this would be Bruce Springsteen but let’s not forget every working rock n roll band that’s been played this since 1975, often as the encore, keeping it relevant for decades.
When you practice playing along with the original, you may find that tuning slightly sharp, to 442 or 444Hz feels better. Use my online guitar tuner to achieve this.
As a member, you get TAB for each section so you can play this correctly with your band too. I’ve gone the extra mile there and come up with a fingerstyle country-esque version using open-position chords as well.
The reason for this is that playing this kind of honky-tonk comping can be extremely stretchy (i.e. painful), so I’ve come up with an alternative for you.

One of the best ways to create contrast in songs is to use opposite messages in the music and lyrics.
John Fogerty, the lead singer, and songwriter of Creedence Clearwater Revival is a master of this technique, perhaps the perfect example is Bad Moon Rising.
