The chords in brackets indicate that they are to appear/disappear, so I put them in brackets rather than writing them several times.
This is an 8-bar honky tonk blues and I can’t think of a better tune to practice your honky-tonk stamina so simply play along with the original and just aim to keep up.
As you practice playing along with Status Quo, you may find that tuning slightly sharp, to 442 or 444Hz feels better. Use my online guitar tuner to achieve this.
I’ve designed some TAB for each section so you can play this correctly with your band too. I’ve gone the extra mile there and come up with a fingerstyle country-esque version using open-position chords as well.
The reason for this is that playing this kind of honky-tonk comping can be extremely stretchy (i.e. painful), so I came up with an alternative for you, RSI is no picnic!

Having absorbed this TAB, a simple chord chart is good to have so you can remember the structure, here’s one I made for you,.

Rockin’ All Over The World is a cover!
English rockers Status Quo must be the only band in the world that successfully managed to claim the Honky-Tonk as their own, without having to reference Chuck Berry!
And what tune captures this better than their signature song Rockin’ All Over The World? (It wasn’t Status Quo who wrote this classic, it was John Fogerty, but Status Quo certainly claimed it.)
Another notable artist playing this tune would be Bruce Springsteen but more importantly, every working rock n’ roll band that’s been played this since 1975, often as the encore, keeping it relevant for decades.
All of Status Quo’s hits were pretty much covers, the only exception being Whatever You Want, which funnily enough, does sound like every other Status Quo tune!
A lesson to us all here, your band doesn’t just need tunes, you need a sound!

One of the best ways to create contrast in songs is to use opposite messages in the music and lyrics.
John Fogerty, the lead singer, and songwriter of Creedence Clearwater Revival is a master of this technique, perhaps the perfect example is Bad Moon Rising.
