Chaka Khan’s Greatest Tunes and Timeless Collaborations
As the lead singer of the band Rufus, Chaka Khan is a celebrated singer-songwriter from Chicago.
Her solo debut arrived in 1978, and new albums have continued to appear ever since. Her latest release dropped as recently as 2019, titled Hello Happiness.
Best known for her cover of I Feel for You, I’m Every Woman (later famously covered by Whitney Houston), and Tell Me Something Good (written for her by Stevie Wonder), Chaka has never shied away from tackling classics like My Funny Valentine.
But without a doubt, Chaka Khan’s signature song is Ain’t Nobody—a tune still played every weekend by countless cover bands, decades after its release.
In addition to her solo hits, numerous albums, and work with Rufus, Chaka Khan has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the business. Alongside Prince and Stevie Wonder, she’s worked with Ray Charles, Steve Winwood, Robert Palmer, Ry Cooder, De La Soul, and Mary J. Blige.
As far as accolades go, Chaka Khan is a regular at the Grammy Awards, with 22 nominations and 10 wins to her name.
