Another Lonely Day | Chords + Lyrics (tune down 1 tone)

Intro

| C /B | Am | Em | G /A |

Verse 1

||: C /B | Am | Em | G /A :||
Yes, indeed I’m, alone again.
And here comes emptiness, crashing in.
It’s either love or hate, I can’t find in between.
| C /B | Am | Em | G /E |
‘Cause I’ve been with witches and I have been with a queen.

Chorus 1

||: Fsus2 | Am | G (G6) | G /E :||
It wouldn’t have worked out anyway.
So now it’s just another lonely day.
Further along, we just may.
| Fsus2 | Am | G (G6) | G (G6) /A |
But for now, it’s just another lonely day.

Verse 2

||: C C/B | Am | Em | G :||
I wish there was something I could say or do.
I can resist anything but the temptation from you.
But I’d rather walk alone, than chase you around.
| C /B | Am | Em | G /E |
I’d rather fall myself than let you drag me on down.

Chorus 2

||: Fsus2 | Am | G (G6) | G /E :||
It wouldn’t have worked out anyway.
And now it’s just another lonely day.
Further along, we just may.
| Fsus2 | Am | G (G6) | G (G6) /A |
But for now, it’s just another lonely day.

Verse 3

||: C C/B | Am | Em | G :||
Yesterday seems like a life ago.
‘Cause the one I love, today I hardly know.
You I held so close in my heart, oh dear.
| C /B | Am | Em | G /E |
Grow further from me with every fallen tear.

Chorus 3

||: Fsus2 | Am | G | G :||
It wouldn’t have worked out anyway.
So now it’s just another lonely day.
Further along, we just may.
But for now, it’s just another lonely day.
For now, it’s just another lonely day.
For now, it’s just another lonely day.

After the VI chord (Am) we go to III (Em) and finish on V (G).

The chorus is even easier as it moves IV – VI – V on repeat, like this:

Ben has tuned down a tone so if you want to play along with the original, you need to do the same. Use my online guitar tuner.

If you don’t want to do this, choose the live recording in the playlist above where he plays it on a guitar in standard tuning.
