From Disney to boy band to solo career!
Justin’s path to fame started before NSYNC, with regular appearances in Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club in 1993-94.
Here he starred alongside future pop princess Britney and Christina, his to-be bandmate JC Chasez, and actor Ryan Gosling (La La Land).
NSYNC was formed in 1995 but take three years before the first album was released in 1998.
The band would go on to sell 70 million records and become the 5th biggest boy band of all time. Tunes include This I Promise You, Bye Bye Bye, and Girlfriend.
In 2001, Justin wrote a song for Michael Jackson who ended up turning the tune down but encouraged Justin to go solo.
A year later he teamed up with Pharrell Williams and started working on his debut solo album.
The first single was Like I Love You, which he performed on the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, not a bad platform to launch your solo career on!
Just a few months later his first album Justified dropped and due to the quality, but also the platform he was launching it from, it went straight in at #2.
Tunes include Cry Me A River (not the Julie London tune), Rock Your Body, Senorita, and the aforementioned Like I Love You. Justin Timberlake became a household name as sales eventually hit 10 million copies.
Following the enormous success of the debut, Justin toured, made some movies, and wrote Where Is The Love with Black Eyed Peas.
His second studio album contained SexyBack, LoveStoned, My Love, and What Goes Around, Comes Around.
Since MTV Video Music Awards did so well back in 2002, Justin was back in 2006 to perform his SexyBack. I guess they all agreed if it ain’t broke…
After a world tour, Justin went into doing films and cowrites for some years before he came back in 2013 with the single Mirrors from the album The 20/20 Experience.
More tours and rubbing shoulders with other superstars followed before he released his most popular tune in 2016.
For the film Trolls, Justin released the single Can’t Stop The Feeling, launched in the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest, it had the perfect platform to go straight into #1, which it did.
Seven years later, Can’t Stop The Feeling has had almost 1.5 billion streams on Spotify, almost four times as much as his Rock Your Body, and twice as many as his 2nd most streamed tune, Mirrors.
