Judy sang Over The Rainbow in The Wizard Of Oz!

Judy Garland shot to worldwide fame when she sang Over The Rainbow in the 1939 Blockbuster The Wizard of Oz at only sixteen years old.

Amazingly, she had made an astonishing twelve films prior to The Wizard Of Oz.

All in all, Judy Garland made forty-one films throughout her career, starting in 1929 with The Big Revue and ending in 1967, after being fired from the production of Valley Of The Dolls.

Judy was the first woman to receive a Grammy for Album of the Year with her 1961 release Judy at Carnegie Hall.

In 1999, the American Film Institute placed Judy Garland at #8 of the greatest female stars in the history of American cinema.

One of her greatest roles as an adult came in the film A Star Is Born has seemingly been released for every generation!

First up was the 1937 version with Janet Gaynor. This was followed by Judy Garland in 1954. Then Barbara Streisand had a go in 1976. And finally, Lady Gaga with her version in 2018.

Whoever plays the female lead for A Star Is Born in the year 2060 hasn’t been born yet!

Apart from Over The Rainbow, Judy also had success with the tunes Putting On The Ritz and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, which remarkably has had more than three times as many plays as Over The Rainbow on Spotify.
