Jason Mraz became a household name in 2008!

In 2002, Mraz signed to Elektra Records and released his first album entitled Waiting For My Rocket To Come.

The debut had the single The Remedy (I Won’t Worry) on it which peaked at #15 on the Billboard chart.

Jason Mraz’s next album, Mr. A-Z was released in 2005 and Mraz promoted it by touring as a support act to Alanis Morrisette, Tracy Chapman, and James Blunt the world over.

Produced by Steve Lillywhite, Mr. A-Z peaked at #5 on the Billboard chart. It contained crowd favorites such as Geek In Pink, Life Is Wonderful, and Wordplay.

For the 2008 album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, the single I’m Yours featured (re-recorded). This song made Jason Mraz a household name.

Spytunes had a hit with I’m Yours before Jason Mraz!

In hindsight, the rest of the world did agree with Spytunes that I’m Yours was the song of 2008 but it took almost two years!

I recorded this song in 2007 and received over a million plays on YouTube before my account was shut down by Jimi Hendrix’s estate.

Based on the original EP version (Extra Credit ’05) Spytunes decided if Jason Mraz wasn’t going to release this obvious monster hit, then we would!

In May 2008, Mraz finally came to his senses and released it as the first single on his album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things.

At first, the sales were slow but by late 2009, I’m Yours was the best-selling song since the millennium with over four million downloads.

It spent the longest time on the Billboard charts ever with 76 weeks. A record I’m Yours held until 2014 when it was overtaken by Awolnation’s hit Sail.
