George Ezra, an English singer-songwriter, attended BIMM (a music college where I used to teach) in 2011 to study songwriting.

After completing his course, he quickly signed with Colombia and released his debut album in 2014.

Prior to the album release, he unveiled two singles. The second single from the album, Budapest, achieved great success, leading the album to debut at #3 on the U.K. charts.

In total, six singles were released from his debut album, titled Wanted On Voyage, with Blame It On Me also performing well.

In 2018, Ezra released his next album, already a well-known name with regular radio airplay.

Two singles preceded the album’s launch, with Paradise reaching #1 in Scotland and garnering moderate success.

However, it was the third single that truly made an impact. Shotgun became Ezra’s signature song and potentially secured him a performance slot at Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage in 2019. His album Staying At Tamara’s became the best-selling U.K. album of 2018.

The subsequent single, Hold My Girl, also achieved success, spending 26 weeks on the charts.

In 2022, Ezra released his third album, titled Gold Rush Kid. The single Green Green Grass became his seventh top-ten single in the U.K.

When examining his Spotify numbers, it is evident that Budapest still holds his highest streaming figures, closely followed by Shotgun.
