Aguilera started out alongside Justin and Britney!
Christina Aguilera is an American pop singer, songwriter, and record producer.
She started her career along with Britney and Justin Timberlake in The Mickey Mouse Club, an American TV show.
These days, Christina sells out stadiums worldwide and has inspired thousands of young singers. Let’s take a look at how the tunes she sang got her there.
After singing for Disney’s Mulan in 1998, Aguilera got signed to RCA and released her self-titled debut album the following year.
Two big tunes here made Christina a household name, Genie In A Bottle and What A Girl Wants.
Next, she releases two albums, the first in Spanish, and the second a Christmas album. This all smells a bit like record company world domination ambitions to me. She also records a new version of Lady Marmalade for the film Moulin Rouge with the help of Pink, Mya, and Lil’ Kim.
This brings us to her fourth album, Stripped (2002) which contains Beautiful, Dirrty, and Fighter.
By now Christina Aguilera is a worldwide superstar, and it’s only been three or four years!
In 2006 she release Back to Basics, an old-school album paying tribute to her influences. With Mark Ronson being one of the producers, the big tunes were Candyman and Ain’t No Other Man. Surprisingly nothing involving her biggest hero, Etta James was on the album.
Following this, Christina release more albums but the hit tunes have now dried up, her greatest success being a guest appearance on Moves Like Jagger with Maroon 5 in 2011.
More big tunes or not, with a back catalog of around ten worldwide hit tunes, she can safely embrace stadium tour life for the next few decades.
