Miley’s dad!
Born in the early ’60s, Billy Ray found fame in 1992 when he released his debut single Achy Breaky Heart, which topped the charts worldwide.
The album Some Gave All, featuring Achy Breaky Heart, sold 20 million copies, setting a record for a male debut solo album.
Since his debut, Billy Ray has released a further 15 studio albums. While none have achieved the same level of sales as his debut, there have been more hits, such as Could’ve Been Me, She’s Not Cryin’ Anymore, and In the Heart of a Woman, all of which charted reasonably well.
Most notably, however, his 2019 release Old Town Road (Remix) with Lil Nas X became his second biggest hit.
Billy Ray is also a well-known actor, having starred in TV shows Doc and Hannah Montana alongside his daughter, pop princess Miley Cyrus, whose godmother is Dolly Parton.
