Alright Now chords and lyrics

||: A5 D/A | A5 | D D/A | A5 :||
Oh, oh, oh, ah!

||: A5 D/A | A5 | D D/A | A5 :||
There she stood in the street, smiling from her head to her feet.
I said hey, what is this? Now baby, maybe, maybe she’s in need of a kiss.
I said hey, what’s your name, baby? Maybe we can see things the same?
Now, don’t you wait, or hesitate. Let’s move before they raise the parking rate.

| A5 (F# E) | G | D/F# | A |
All right now, baby, it’s all right now.
| A5 (F# E) | G | D/F# | A |
 All right now, baby, it’s all right now.
| A5 D/A | A5 | D D/A | A5 |
Let me tell you now, uh.

||: A5 D/A | A5 | D D/A | A5 :||
I took her home to my place, watching every move on her face.
She said look, what’s your game baby? Are you tryin’ to put me in shame?
I said slow, don’t go so fast, don’t you think that love can last?
She said love, Lord above. Now you’re tryin’ to trick me in love.

| A5 (F# E) | G | D/F# | A |
All right now, baby, it’s all right now.
| A5 (F# E) | G | D/F# | A |
All right now, baby, it’s all right now.
| A5 |
It’s all right now, oh.

About

All Right Now is a single from English rockers Free. Released in 1970, it would become their biggest hit. As Paul Rodgers (lead singer) moved on and founded Bad Company, he would still perform All Right Now with his new band.

Written by the bass player of Free, Andy Fraser, after a bad gig, Paul Rodgers contributed with the lyrics.

All Right Now hit the charts the world over, claiming the top spot in over 20 territories. To this day it is still played on classic rock radio stations, in many ways epitomizing the genre.

All Right Now chord progression

The chords for All Right Now are largely centered around the traditional blues concept of the I – IV and V, although there is more to it.

In the key of A, the A chord is most of the time an A5. When we move to the D chord (IV) we maintain that A in the bass.

As the chorus appears, we include a G chord, this is the classic rock n roll bVIIx. The D now gets an F# in the bass.

The E chord, which is chord V, only appears once, at the end of the (very long) solo.

The solo is backed up by a very distinctive bass line. In fact, from beginning to end, All Right Now is packed with slash chords and interesting bass movements.

And I supposed, once you know that Andy, the bass player wrote the song, it all makes sense as to why All Right Now’s chords are what they are.
