Major pentatonic Guitar Conspiracy exerciseLearn how to connect the major pentatonic scale shapes!

These two videos show what the major pentatonic shapes look like when connected.

When you can this in A and D, continue through the cycle of 4ths until you are back in A again.

The video lesson play this exercise using triplets, however, there is no reason for why you couldn’t play this using 16th notes instead.

Experiment with slightly changing the individual exercises to suit you and whatever else you are working on at the moment.

For example, did you practice Spyder 11 today? Can you apply that same rhythm to this exercise?

Practicing Routine example

Let’s imagine that you spend most of your days playing:

  1. Chromatic Exercises
  2. Major Pentatonic Exercises
  3. Improvising over S-E Jam Tracks

A good idea would then be to focus on:

  1. Spyder 13
  2. Connect Major Pentatonic Shapes, use the same rhythm as Spyder 13
  3. Blues 1, swapping major pentatonic over every chord.

This way you achieve a more holistic session.

Remember, all you have to do is to keep a truthful diary of what and how much you practice every day.
