Learn how to connect all blues scale shapes!

This exercise connects all 5 shapes of the Blues Scale.

Triplets are used in all connect shapes exercises, don’t expect to get it perfect at first try, just take it slowly and notate your progression, in time you’ll get it.

Once you’re cool with playing this in Am as in the video, crack on with Dm, Gm and all other keys that follow the cycle of 4ths.

As long as this is a daily routine, progression is quick.

When you can play along with the video, consider practicing the blues scale mission complete.

Varying rhythms when practicing

As well as triplets, why not play this exercise using 16th note clusters, just like you do with Chromatic Exercises.

Or maybe even try some more complicated rhythms that stretch more than a few beats like you do in Funk Patterns.

As long as you are still practicing connecting all the blues scale shapes in all keys, variation on the rhythmical theme will only do you good.

Use Chordacus to see how the shapes move around the fret board in Am.

Can you see the intervals with the same ease in all shapes?
