Chromatic Exercise Guitar Conspiracy LessonUse this as a warm up for every practice session!

The first Spyder is based on a straight 8th note pattern (8 notes in one bar of 4/4)

Aim to reach a BPM of at least 120 before you stop practicing this Spyder and focus on Spyder 2.

TAB for Spyder 1 and all other Spyders can be found in the S-E P R Work Book, this e Book also allows you to keep track of your progression, eliminating any unnecessary work.

Spyders And Warming Up

The Serious guitarist, who practice several hours a day might be up for some serious muscle ache and if not careful: RSI!

I can not stress enough that you have to stop if it hurts.

To avoid problems like RSI, simply start every practice session with a warm up. Spyder 1 at a low BPM like 50-70 might not be the most exciting thing in the world, but it does help.

Simply play the exercise very slowly, keeping arms, neck and hands as relaxed as possible for at least 10 min before every practice session.

Another very important factor in developing RSI is the climate you practice in.

If it’s cold you are much more likely to develop problems, so the colder your room is, the longer the warm up!
