Advanced Practice RoutineLearn how to connect all Mixolydian scale shapes!

For successful soloing, connect the Mixolydian shapes in all 12 keys!

The video lesson demonstrates what this would look like in the key of A, transpose the concept to D, G etc.

If you need extra help, try Chordacus, she will show you how chords and scales connect on the guitar.

Don’t get put off by the triplet rhythm in the video, make sure you get the pattern right by playing slowly at first, without a click.

When you feel confident, put the click on and try the exercise using different rhythms. Notate in Work Book.

Chord extensions from Mixolydian

Chord extensions are built from scales, in Mixolydian we extend the dom7 into:

Dom9, Dom11 and Dom13.

By taking every other note from the Mixolydian scale we get:

1 3 5 b7 9 11 13

To create the different chords on the guitar, simply use the intervals in bold.

For more about chords and extensions check your copy of The Guitar Conspiracy.
