Advanced Practice RoutineLearn how to connect all Lydian scale shapes!

Once you know all your shapes individually, you need to connect the shapes.

The video demonstrates this in A, but you need to do this in all keys in order to get the shapes into your hands.

Try different rhythms, triplets are used in the video but any rhythm is possible.

Maybe you could use the same rhythm as you are working on with your Chromatic Exercises?

Or maybe you have experimented with your own rhythmical exercises, why not add that to this connect Lydian shapes exercise?

Connect Lydian Scale Shapes

Due to its similarity to Ionian, Lydian can be difficult to get right at first, don’t give up!

Expect to spend a few weeks on each mode before it starts to feel natural.

Feel free to skip between exercises adapting the routine to your own needs.

Below is a Chordacus slide show of the Lydian shapes in A, make sure each scale shape is crystal clear in your mind.
