Well back from Canada work assignment, missed the guitar practices, however in all not bad to have a time away to build appetite.

This week is bit different for practice as I have two formal band get togethers one with the band on Thursday and a gig on Sunday afternoon. As such I shall push more with the songs I am playing.

I have a fairly detailed tracker for song initiatives and where I am and this pretty much guides me as to what I shall present live for both the group jam/practice and solo gig.

Shall share this more when I have time to make it easier for others to read.

1) I find any form of documentation of the process the most helpful.
2) I incorporate all theory/exercise into current songs I am presenting (more on this in future)
3) The spyder / spider exercise have been the greatest help ; I do them to develop finger strength and exercise/ only one finger at time moves while all the other remain in contact with fret board. I do no flying fingers other than the one thats moving to the next position.
4) The slower the better. Most of the time I practice exercises between 30 and 60 and if this is to easy I find out what I am doing to make the tone better (more on this). When I practice in preparation for a live presented song I never practice routinely above 80% of the song speed.

Good to be back.
