SRV paired Albert King with Jimi Hendrix and got on a David Bowie single!
Stevie grew up listening to the old blues masters (particularly Albert King) and British Blues Boom players Eric Clapton and Peter Green.
He released his debut album, Texas Flood (Pride And Joy and Texas Flood both appeared on this album) in June of 1983. The same year as Let’s Dance by David Bowie became a world wide hit.
From this, he became world famous and an instant hit due to his gutsy playing with killer songs.
