Possibly the least known of the “Three Kings”, Freddie King was Eric Clapton‘s favorite and a pioneer of instrumental blues hits like Hide Away and The Stumble.
Known for his instrumentals by his fans, Freddie King has always been an inspiration as an improviser to fellow guitarists. Freddie never played it the same way twice!
In 1993, in memory of Freddie and his phenomenal impact on musicians across the world, Texan governor Ann Richards declared September 3rd as “Freddie King Day”.
