One More Cup Of Coffee Guitar Lesson

Learn how to play better rhythm guitar!

One More Cup Of Coffee is not a fast song so at first this might seem easy.

However, the more you play this tune, the more you will see how difficult it is to make something simple sound good.

Many professional players often say it is harder to play well at a slow tempo than at a fast. To check that you are doing all right, play One More Cup Of Coffee to a metronome.

As you do, try to go as “far behind the beat” as you can.

If it sound like you are “holding back” from the click and your strums never appear before the click then you are on the right track.

Practice Rhythm Guitar

Another good way to test your placement is to record yourself to a click in a program like Logic or Cubase, zoom in on your sound wave and look at where you are in relation to the grid.

To get even better, play it slower.

To play a simple part like this you need to vary your strumming with rakes (quick arpeggio strum), hard/soft strums and combination of plucking the bass notes and strumming the upper part of the chord.

Also try this with: The Drugs Don’t Work, Redemption Song, Talking About A Revolution and Angie.

It’s a good idea to notate the differences in the DIY TAB, but most importantly you should aim to be free with this stuff, constantly adapting your rhythmical playing to the vocal performance.
