These video guitar lessons will teach you songs with more advanced chords than at 'Beginner Lessons'.

We now use barred chords and fractions of barred chords, paired with licks and bass lines to spice up a the guitar arrangements.

Learn what is in the video, then come up with your own variations.

As usual the lessons are divided in chord and rhythm guitar lessons. As your understanding of the guitar grows, do come up with your own variations of these arrangements.

Try different inversions, your own picking/strumming patterns and maybe even extend a few chords to make the arrangements your own.

Chord Lessons

In these lessons we learn songs with more advanced chords than just the normal open position chords.

These chords are called "barred chords" and should be memorized all over the neck.

We also include some bass lines, a few melodies, extended chords and even some slash chords.

Pair the studies of these songs with the chord, chord progression and scale exercises at 'Intermediate Practice Routine' to get the full benefit of the material.

'Mad World' for example, has a solo melody for the intro, don't memorize it, instead think of it as what scale is used and what interval it starts on.

Following this path enables you to understand music rather than relying on muscle memory.

Rhythm Lessons

Most of the songs here at 'Intermediate Lessons' are played with a pick and will teach you how to strum and pick your way through an arrangement.

Save yourself time by first learning the Etude in the e Book 'Rhythm Guitar' before you get your teeth into the actual song.

The lesson example used here on your left is Jason Mraz's 'I'm Yours'. This is an original Spytunes arrangement, make sure you start the rhythmical pattern with an upstroke.

Notice how the picking hand is in constant 16th pace motion. This is the key to staying in time, make sure your wrist is loose and relaxed as well.

To get started with the intermediate lessons: pick a song from the list above.
