Originally released in 1973 on the label 'Hi' (same label as Al Green), 'I Can't Stand The Rain' was the name of the album, and the song was the title track.

Since then 'I Can't Stand The Rain' has only increased in popularity, these days most people know the song, but most likely not the artist behind it.

Not just played by covers bands as one of those songs that you "heard before, but didn't expect" on the set list, 'I Can't Stand The Rain' has been recorded by several artists.
