Oasis WonderwallWonderwall, Oasis biggest hit!Initially named 'Wishing Stone', 'Wonderwall' was renamed after a film from 1968 that bore the same name. George Harrison wrote the original soundtrack for the film 'Wonderwall Music'. Rumors claim that Noel wrote Wonderwall for his wife Meg Mathews, post the divorce Noel claimed the song was about an imaginary friend who's gonna come and save you from yourself. 'Wonderwall' is by far Oasis most popular track and can only be compared to Angels by Robbie Williams as the most popular song by a British act in the last 20 years. Wonderwall LegacyOasis shows at Glastonbury have become legendary, so much so that when Jay-Z was headlining in 2008, there was controversy. Glastonbury is for British bands argued the British press. Jay-Z answered by opening up with 'Wonderwall'. A year later when Oasis pulled out of V festival last minute, Snow Patrol performed the song in honor of receiving their slot. Other famous covers of 'Wonderwall' include the one of Ryan Adams. This version was so big that even oasis started to use ideas from Ryans arrangement.
