The rhythm guitar in Time Of Your Life is very simple and repetitive.

Notice how the upper part of the pattern stay the same. This is a very good strategy should you want to create a meditative pattern like the one in 'Time Of Your Life'.

Notice how the first two G chords played are mistakes, hence the vocal comment. The third pattern, which is what the song use, moves from string 4 to 2, rather than 4 to 3.

A hammer on is used for the left hand to add to the rhythmical pattern, compare to: 'Redemption Song' and 'Wish You Were Here'.

Picking Vs Strumming

Instead of the traditional strumming pattern approach, 'Time Of Your Life' use a meditative picking pattern that keeps the top strings in the same constant movement.

This type of technique is very useful and might even be easier to keep in time than a strumming approach.

Should you struggle with the picking pattern, practice sweeping spyders to a metronome everyday.
