The strumming pattern for 'Talking About A Revolution' is simple yet effective.

The reason it works so well is due to the push into chord 2 and 4 (Cadd9 and D), a second layer of looping is created by binding chords together like this.

When you play a pattern like this there is only one way to vary it and that is with dynamics. 

Up til 0:50 it's all just strumming, same pace, same dynamics, make it as even sounding as possible, the focus should be on the vocal.

Dynamics In Rhythm Guitar Parts

Between 0:50 and 1:18 a picking technique is used which automatically brings us down dynamically. Keep this section nice and even, held back but not shy.

From here til the next verse at 2:03  the strumming remains held back. No need to force the strumming, keep it gentle.
With only a minute left you now have the option of going back to picking, maybe try some muted strumming and possibly even some forceful strumming.

Make sure that this is as organically developed with the singer as possible, feed off eachother and make sure it's not exactly the same every time.

The main thing to remember is to never go full out straight away, hold it back and choose when to add that extra bit, this is a much more efficient way of performing.
