Ocean Colour Scene Robin Hood
Ocean Colour Scene survived through strong fan base!Originally released as a B-side 'Robin Hood' has become a classic amongst true OCS fans.Songs reaching the masses through underground demand like this is not as rare as you may first think. 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz had a similar venture, everywhere Mraz went people knew the lyrics off by heart. Mraz capitalized on this with his 2008 release, OCS never did release 'Robin Hood' as a single. Notice how songs that reach such legendary status always have a very simple harmonic and melodic structure. The message is clear, the chords are simple, the lyrics are direct and rhythmical patterns are always easy to follow.
Consistency and loyal fan base Since 1990 the band has managed to stay together by touring and recording. After the huge success with the '96 Moseley Shoals, OCS have released a new album every two years between 1997 and 2007. The next release from 'Ocean Colour Scene' is due in early 2010. All ready named 'Rockfield', it will mark the 21st birthday of the band. |
