About Spy Tunes

You Can Learn Guitar!

Spy Tunes was created as an alternative to traditional acoustic and electric guitar lessons.

Traditionally, guitar players in blues and modern music learn songs and licks by ear, TAB or by watching someone else play a guitar part.

This is then memorized by repeatedly playing the same thing over and over again.

This type of learning may teach you a lot of tricks and songs but will lack in an overall musical understanding.

Perhaps the biggest downfall of the traditional way is that you have to keep practicing your licks and songs in order to remember them.

Why is Spy Tunes different?

Spy Tunes methodology go against learning songs using muscle memory.

Instead, we discover the building blocks and universal rules of music such as intervals and chord numbers.

For example, when we understand how a songs chord progression can be translated to numbers we can learn from every song we play instead of just memorizing another order of chords.

Using this approach it will soon be obvious how all musical styles can be viewed in the same way, using the same shapes, repeating the same patterns that always occur in popular music.

This means that you will no longer be bound by style and that you eventually can stop practicing the guitar, just play and explore.
